Allow me to introduce myself…
Allison Pursley, MA, LCMHCA, NBCC
Hello!
Thank you for stopping by - and taking the first step on this journey. My name is Allison Pursley, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Associate, and National Board-Certified Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UNC-Greensboro in Human Development and Family Studies. I have dual Master of Arts degrees from Liberty University, focused on Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as Human Services with a concentration in Marriage and Families.
When I entered the field, I quickly found enjoyment in helping others meet their goals. I have a substantial background working with children, teenagers, adults, and family systems in both private practice and community settings. Since transitioning into private practice, I have found my passion in working with young adults, women, and individuals experiencing grief and loss.
I work from an eclectic approach, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapies to assist clients with meeting their goals. I believe in client collaboration to create very personalized treatment plans, and fully believe we are a team throughout the therapeutic journey.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, fur babies, and traveling as much as possible!
I know pursuing therapy can be a very daunting process, but I feel that holding space and meeting clients’ where they are is a privilege. I’d love to have a warm conversation and meet you!
